In 1958, Arne Jacobsen designed the Swan Chair for the lobby and lounge areas of the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. An elegant and organic shape, it is ideal for waiting and lounge areas, as well as for the home. The design features rounded lines, with the sculptural shape of the shell resembling the silhouette of a swan. The technique Jacobsen used to create the curved shell of the Swan and the Egg was considered highly advanced and revolutionary for its time.
